A 28-year-old man died at the hospital Saturday after being shot in downtown Dallas.

Officers responded about 6:30 p.m. to the 2700 block of Lemmon Avenue in Uptown and found an injured man, police said.

The victim, identified by police as Justin Allen, was taken to the hospital where he died.

Detectives determined Allen had been shot in the 200 block of Prather Street, near South Ervay and South Saint Paul streets, before he was found by officers, police said.

It was not immediately clear why the victim was found a few miles away from where the shooting occurred.

No arrests have been announced in the case.
