Man assaulted, killed while making delivery in Fort Worth, police say; suspect arrested

A man was arrested late Saturday after an assault left one person dead and another injured in southern Fort Worth, according to police.

Chrisantus Omondi, 27, was booked into the Fort Worth jail about 11:40 p.m. on a murder charge, records show. It was unclear whether he had an attorney.

When officers responded to an assault call in the 3900 block of Wendover Drive, near West Cleburne Road, they found a deceased man who had “apparent assaultive injuries to his upper torso/head,” police said. A second victim with injuries was taken to the hospital, treated and released.

Omondi was taken into custody at the scene after being stunned with a taser by officers, police said.

Detectives determined the victim was “making a delivery to a resident when he was attacked by the suspect,” police said. “The homeowner observed the assault and was also assaulted by the suspect.”

Additional details, including a motive, were not immediately available.

The investigation is ongoing.
