Houston’s airports achieved a monumental milestone in 2023 by setting an unprecedented all-time record for passenger traffic

Houston’s airports, George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), soared to new heights in 2023, setting an all-time record for passenger traffic, Houston Airports has announced.

Last year, the two airports collectively welcomed a staggering 60.1 million passengers, marking a significant increase from the previous record set in 2019, when 59.7 million passengers passed through the Houston Airports system. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the shutdown of airports in 2020.

In comparison to 2022, Houston Airports witnessed a remarkable surge of 6 million additional passengers in 2023, according to air service data. Furthermore, the airports accommodated nearly 370,000 more passengers than in the record-setting year of 2019.
