Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, who opted not to travel to the UK amid concerns about King Charles and Princess Kate’s health, are set to visit Canada this month for a special celebration.
The couple, based in California, have planned to spend Valentine’s Day abroad by flying to Canada for a three-day visit (from February 14 to February 16) for the “Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025’s One Year to Go” celebrations, according to recent reports.
During their stay in the country, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will engage with members of the participating nations’ Winter Training Camp, including team managers, coaches, and competitors, to experience winter adaptive sports in preparation for the Games next year.
The couple intends to take some personal time during their schedule to renew their vows and strengthen their relationship on Valentine’s Day, as Canada holds special significance for Harry and Meghan. They made their public debut as a couple at the 2017 Invictus Games in Toronto, where Meghan resided while filming Suits.
“I had always wanted to share these incredible moments with someone special, and to have Meg by my side means everything,” Prince Harry previously expressed to PEOPLE.
Prince Harry, the youngest son of King Charles III, founded the international adaptive sports tournament for wounded, injured, and sick service personnel and veterans in 2014.
Following events in London (2014), Orlando (2016), Toronto (2017), Sydney (2018), The Hague (rescheduled to 2022 due to COVID-19), and Düsseldorf (2023), the 2025 competition in Canada will mark the first return of the Invictus Games to a previous host country.
Additionally, Meghan and Harry’s photographer friend, Misan Harriman, recently shared two new images of the couple from the 2023 Invictus Games in Germany.
In January, the couple traveled to Jamaica, and now their upcoming visit to Canada seems to convey a clear message to the ailing King and Princess Kate that they have pressing engagements to attend to.
