Tiffany Haddish has sidestepped jail time in her Los Angeles DUI case through a plea deal

Actress Tiffany Haddish has reached a resolution in her Los Angeles DUI case by entering a plea of no contest to reckless driving, as per reports. This development follows her arrest in November 2023 on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Haddish made a court appearance on Thursday, February 1st, where she accepted a plea agreement that dismissed the two misdemeanor DUI charges against her. Instead, she received a conviction for reckless driving, which is considered a less severe offense. As part of the arrangement, she will serve a one-year probation term and complete 40 hours of community service.

“Ms. Haddish has agreed to a simple vehicle code violation – not driving under the influence, which has been dismissed — and looks forward to this being behind her,” mentioned her attorney, Alex Spiro, in a statement to TMZ.

This development follows Haddish’s previous public acknowledgment of the incident, expressing her intention to seek assistance to prevent similar occurrences in the future. This plea deal reflects her proactive steps in addressing the matter.

However, it’s worth noting that Haddish still faces a separate DUI charge related to an arrest in Georgia in May 2022. The outcome of that case is pending, and it remains uncertain how she will proceed.

Despite the legal challenges, Haddish’s professional endeavors remain unaffected. She continues to be involved in upcoming projects, including the animated film The Addams Family 2 and the comedy Easter Sunday.
