Harris County files a lawsuit against apartment owners following reports from residents about enduring years of raw sewage leaks in their living spaces

Residents at The Palms on Rolling Creek apartments in north Harris County have been enduring severe plumbing issues for years, including raw sewage leaks that make navigating the complex a hazardous task.

Despite paying rent on time, residents are frustrated with clogged sewage lines and malfunctioning plumbing, which often result in sewage backup inside their homes. One resident, who wished to remain anonymous, described the daily challenge of navigating through raw sewage to take his daughter to school.

Complaints from residents reveal widespread sewage problems throughout the complex. Evidence from Harris County confirms the severity of the situation, with raw sewage covering sidewalks and numerous citations issued since November 2019 by Harris County Pollution Control.

A lawsuit has been filed against the complex owners, Globix Palms Rolling, LLC, citing persistent sewage issues despite multiple inspections and citations. Inspections have revealed the presence of E. Coli in active leaks and standing sewage around the property.

Efforts to reach the owners and management of the complex have been unsuccessful, leaving residents feeling neglected and mistreated.

The lawsuit brings hope to residents that their living conditions may improve, but the process of justice feels slow to those dealing with the daily mess.

Residents emphasize the urgency of the situation, highlighting the impact on their health and well-being. They express relief that their concerns are being taken seriously.

This case underscores the importance of reporting rental property issues to local authorities. Residents are encouraged to utilize channels such as 311 to address problems and seek assistance.
