Authorities are probing a shooting incident in southern Dallas where five individuals sustained injuries

Police are currently investigating a shooting incident in southern Dallas that resulted in five individuals being injured on Friday night.

DPD responded to a call in the 200 block of Stoneport Dr. at approximately 8:50 p.m. at the Riverstation Apartments.

“I heard a bunch of shots and it seemed like it was real close,” said Mr. Wallace, a neighbor who opted not to disclose his first name out of safety concerns.

According to police reports, three adults and two minors sustained gunshot wounds in the parking lot. All victims were transported to a nearby hospital and are reported to be in stable condition.

NBC 5 interviewed Grady, who stated that one of the victims was his daughter.

“I’m headed to Baylor because my daughter has been shot in the foot,” he said. “I got two grandkids. This is dangerous. These apartments are dangerous. They’ve got to do something about this.”

Police have indicated that the suspects fled the scene in an unknown vehicle.

“It’s just real sad that we have this type of violence, you know what I’m saying? In our community. It’s just really bad,” Wallace said. “It’s just really sad that our young kids, kids can’t even come outside and play. Kids can’t even do anything.”

At present, the motive behind the shooting remains unknown, but authorities have assured that there is no threat to the public.

The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
