CJ Stroud isn’t just a baller on the field. Texans QB ready for the court

When C.J. Stroud last visited Indianapolis, he led his Texans to victory over the Colts, securing a playoff spot for their AFC South rivals. Now, the talented quarterback returns to the “Crossroads of America” for a different challenge – showcasing his basketball skills on the hard court.

As one of the featured participants in the 2024 Ruffles NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, Stroud joins a star-studded lineup that includes athletes, entertainers, and musicians. The event, a precursor to the NBA All-Star Game, will see Team Stephen A. Smith, coached by ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith, face off against a team led by his First Take co-host, Shannon Sharpe.

Stroud’s teammates include notable figures like rapper Lil’ Wayne, WNBA champion A’ja Wilson, and Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson. On the opposing side, Sharpe’s team includes country singer Walker Hayes and Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons, among others.

Despite his success on the football field, Stroud has a history with basketball, having been a two-sport athlete in high school. He credits his basketball background for enhancing his footwork skills, which he finds beneficial on the football field.

The 2024 Ruffles NBA All-Star Celebrity Game will be broadcast live from Lucas Oil Stadium on Friday at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN, providing fans with an opportunity to see Stroud and other celebrities showcase their basketball talents.
