Princess of Wales Kate Middleton chose Adelaide Cottage in order to give her children a normal lifestyle as she she is recuperating from abdominal surgery, a royal expert has claimed.
Speaking to OK! magazine, per GB News, royal expert Jennie Bond suggests that Princess Kate is in “no rush” to leave Adelaide Cottage, following Kensington Palace’s fresh statement.
The Princess of Wales underwent “successful” planned abdominal surgery in January, and the Palace announced she was “doing well” earlier this week.
A spokesperson for the Princess of Wales issued a fresh statement on Thursday to reiterate that Kate, 42, will not return to royal duties until at least after Easter.
The mother-of-three is recuperating at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, where she lives with Prince William, 41, and her three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five.
Royal commentator Jennie Bond explained whether Kate and William might want a bigger property than Adelaide Cottage with more space.
She said: “I’m not sure William And Kate will be that fussed about the situation.
“They chose Adelaide cottage because they wanted to give the children a more normal lifestyle.”
Bond pointed out that the Prince and Princess of Wales have multiple properties.
She added: “Of course, they still have the apartment at Kensington Palace, and they have a large house in Norfolk.
“So they are well acquainted with a grand lifestyle, and perhaps living in a relatively normal four bedroom house isn’t such a bad option.”
The royal commentator suggested the possibility of one day moving to Royal Lodge.
She continued telling OK!: “As the children grow up, though, and want friends to stay… or William and Kate want family to stay, they might find it a bit of a squeeze and would be grateful for the space at Royal Lodge.
“For now, though, I don’t think there’s a great rush.”
