Woman’s family tracks her phone, discovers her shot to death inside parked car in SE Houston: HPD

Houston police are conducting an investigation into the death of a woman who was found shot inside her parked car in the Sunnyside area after leaving home to visit the convenience store, according to officials.

Authorities stated that the 46-year-old woman informed her family of her intention to go to the convenience store to purchase snacks at around 1 a.m. on Friday. Although the family mentioned that the woman was a night owl and frequently enjoyed such outings, she failed to return home.

The woman and her family resided near Beltway 8 and Highway 249 in the Willowbrook area, as per police reports.

Concerned about her absence, the family initiated a search and began tracking her phone, which pinpointed her exact location.

According to HPD, the woman’s family made the grim discovery. She was found in the front passenger seat of her car in the 4800 block of Briscoe and Calhoun with a gunshot wound.

Authorities pronounced her dead at the scene. Currently, there is no description available for a suspect.
