19-year-old woman shot and killed in median in southeast Houston, HPD says

Authorities in Houston, Texas, are conducting an investigation following the tragic shooting death of a woman in southeast Houston on Sunday, as reported by the Houston Police Department.

The incident occurred around 6:45 p.m. at 5201 Reed Road, the location of a car club meetup.

According to police, the victim, a 19-year-old woman, worked as a home healthcare aide and enjoyed attending the car meetups.

The male suspect, who was observed driving a black Ford Focus, surrendered himself to authorities.

The victim’s mother expressed profound grief, stating, “He left a hole in my heart. I am dying inside. I don’t know how to accept this. This is my best friend.”

The motive behind the suspect’s actions remains unclear at this time.
