Charges pending for man in Dallas carjacking that killed woman, police say

Dallas Police are awaiting charges for a man accused of stealing a car and causing a fatal crash that resulted in the death of a woman who was ejected from the vehicle overnight.

The incident occurred around 12:50 a.m. in the 1300 block of Murdock Road after reports of a kidnapping and a major crash reached authorities. Upon arrival, responders discovered an unidentified woman lying in the middle of the road.

Efforts to save the woman’s life were unsuccessful, and she succumbed to her injuries.

According to investigators, the suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, stole the woman’s car while she was inside and then lost control of the vehicle, crashing into a pole. The impact caused the woman to be ejected from the car.

The suspect, whose identity is being withheld until formal charges are filed, sustained injuries in the crash and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Surveillance footage obtained from a neighbor’s doorbell camera captured the allegedly stolen car speeding down Murdock Road before the fiery crash.

Residents in the area expressed shock and sorrow over the tragic incident, emphasizing concerns about car thefts and speeding vehicles in the neighborhood. They offered condolences to the victim’s family and hoped for justice in the wake of the fatal crash.

The investigation into the incident continues, with authorities working to identify the alleged carjacker and the victim.
