DoorDash expansion brings more fresh food choices to SNAP customers

DoorDash has announced an expansion of its SNAP/EBT payment offering, introducing over a dozen new grocery partners. This move is aimed at enhancing access to affordable groceries through on-demand delivery and extending support for SNAP/EBT payments to all 50 states.

The company emphasizes that eligible customers now have a broader range of options to utilize their SNAP/EBT benefits when ordering groceries online. They can purchase locally-sourced produce, fresh seafood, international items, as well as a diverse selection of natural, organic, and bulk foods, all at competitive prices.

DoorDash states that this initiative is part of its ongoing commitment to providing affordable, convenient, and accessible shopping experiences for consumers in their local communities. This commitment includes various services such as $0 delivery fees with DashPass, daily deals through the Offers hub, and opportunities for savings through bundling orders with DoubleDash.

Since introducing support for SNAP/EBT payments in 2023, DoorDash has emerged as one of the leading online marketplaces offering grocery delivery to SNAP/EBT recipients nationwide, according to company representatives. Over 1.5 million SNAP orders have been processed on DoorDash, with more than 1.1 million consumers adding their SNAP/EBT cards to the platform.

Furthermore, DoorDash announces that new customers can enjoy a two-month free subscription to DashPass, which waives delivery fees on eligible orders, upon uploading their SNAP/EBT card information.
