Baby dropped at stranger’s door in SE Houston has been identified, HPD says

In Houston, Texas (KTRK), authorities have made progress in unraveling the circumstances surrounding the discovery of an infant left outside a family’s doorstep in southeast Houston, according to recent updates.

On Thursday morning, at approximately 6:24 a.m., a baby boy was found outside a residence in the 8400 block of Winthrop Lane. The family residing there encountered the child seated in a car seat on their front porch and promptly notified emergency services.

Initial reports indicated that the infant, dressed in a white and blue striped shirt with blue pants, was of unknown identity, prompting a call for tips from the public to assist in identifying him.

However, on Friday, authorities confirmed that they have ascertained the child’s identity, eliminating the need for further assistance from the public in this regard.

According to information provided by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, the infant boy is approximately 9 months old. He has been discharged from the hospital in satisfactory condition and is presently under the care of foster services.

While progress has been made in identifying the child, the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident remains ongoing, as stated by the police.
