Man and woman found dead in apparent murder-suicide in Greater Uptown townhome, HPD says

Early Monday morning, police discovered the bodies of a man and a woman inside a townhome in the Greater Uptown area of Houston. Authorities suspect the incident to be a murder-suicide.

The Houston Police Department responded to a call regarding the townhome on Jamestown Mall Street near Briar Ridge Drive at approximately 1:20 a.m.

Concerned family and friends, unable to reach the couple, arrived at the townhome and tragically found them deceased in their bedroom, both having sustained gunshot wounds, according to police.

Both individuals, believed to be in their 30s, were found with apparent gunshot wounds, with a pistol recovered next to the male, stated Sgt. Adrian Lopez.

The man, potentially the shooter, had an upcoming court appearance, possibly scheduled for Monday, regarding an unspecified charge.

Authorities are still investigating the timeline of events leading up to the shooting.
