Parents of 19-year-old murdered in Lewisville reflect on their son, senseless gun violence

The tragic death of a young man outside a hookah lounge in Lewisville at the end of March has left loved ones in mourning.

Jason and Delina Anderson are struggling to come to terms with the loss of their 19-year-old son, Jayden Anderson.

Describing Jayden as a sweet, loving, and big-hearted individual, his parents are devastated by the senseless violence that claimed his life.

According to Jason Anderson, Jayden was making strides in the music industry, recently completing another double album with plans to release it on his birthday, July 10.

The fatal incident occurred on Friday, March 29, when Lewisville Police responded to a shooting at the hookah lounge on S.H. 121 business. A fight escalated, resulting in gunfire that tragically claimed Jayden’s life and injured another individual.

Jayden’s parents were present during the shooting, with the chaotic scene separating them from their son until they were reunited at the hospital.

Facing the grim reality of their son’s passing due to senseless gun violence, the Andersons expressed empathy for all those affected by such acts, including the accused 16-year-old shooter.

The juvenile suspect is currently held at the Denton County Juvenile Detention Center, charged with murder, though their identity remains undisclosed due to their age.
