$100K bond set for Harris Co. judge’s wife accused of murdering nephew in fight in Katy, docs say

Mei Wolfe, 48, appeared in court for the first time early Saturday morning following allegations of fatally shooting her nephew during a confrontation in northwest Harris County, according to official documents.

Wolfe is charged with murder after deputies reported that a longstanding dispute with her nephew culminated in her shooting him inside her residence on Thursday night.

The incident occurred in the 24300 block of Tesino River Circle before 9:30 p.m. Wolfe’s nephew, identified as 40-year-old James Wolfe II, had been staying with her after returning from several months of travel.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, an argument erupted between Mei Wolfe and her nephew over his extended stay, prompting her to retrieve a pistol and discharge it during the altercation.

Her husband, Bob Wolfe, a Harris County Justice of the Peace, called 911 and attempted to intervene but was unable to prevent the fatal outcome. He also managed to disarm his wife.

A judge set Wolfe’s bond at $100,000, with conditions including surrendering firearms and passport if she is released on bond.

Judge Bob Wolfe’s office for comment but received no response.
