School bus lands on side after crash in Ellis County

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances leading to a school bus overturning in Ellis County.

Italy ISD confirmed that all students and staff have been safely evacuated from the bus, with only minor injuries reported.

The incident occurred south of Waxahachie, along rural highway FM55 near the town of Avalon.

Avalon ISD Superintendent Khristopher Marshall stated that the bus involved belongs to the Ellis County Shared Services, which includes Avalon ISD for transporting special needs students.

According to Marshall, the bus was carrying three individuals: the driver, a bus monitor, and one student. As a precautionary measure, two of them were taken to the hospital.
