Lewisville resident wins $1 million playing Powerball

A resident of Lewisville became a millionaire after winning $1 million in the Powerball drawing held on March 27, 2024.

Preferring to stay anonymous, the lucky individual claimed their prize by matching all five white balls but missing the red Powerball. The winning ticket was purchased at Kroger on Cross Timbers Road in Flower Mound.

Although there was no jackpot winner in that particular drawing, with an estimated jackpot of $865 million, the Powerball Lottery jackpot continued to grow until the April 6 drawing, when it reached a staggering $1.3 billion.

Currently, the Powerball jackpot stands at an estimated $63 million, with the next drawing scheduled for Monday night.

Powerball Grand Prizes commence at $20 million and roll over until a jackpot winner emerges. To win the Grand Prize, players must match five numbers from a pool of 69 numbers and one Powerball number from a pool of 26 numbers.

Powerball drawings occur every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:12 p.m. CT. Ticket sales in Texas close at 9 p.m. on the night of the drawing, and winners must claim their prizes within 180 days.
