Man arrested, charged in connection to 74-year-old death at W. Houston senior facility, records say

An arrest has been made in connection to the tragic shooting death of a 74-year-old retired school teacher at a senior living facility in west Houston. Clifton John Allen stands accused of murder in the killing of Carol Webber on April 13.

The two were described as “friends” and both resided at Treemont Senior Living. Webber was found deceased in her apartment with a gunshot wound to the head.

Investigations revealed that Webber had transferred her will, retirement, and power of attorney to Allen prior to her death and had expressed fear of him to multiple individuals.

Witnesses stated that Webber had sought help from a facility employee, citing threats from Allen. Friends of Webber expressed shock at the news and questioned the circumstances surrounding her relationship with Allen, particularly considering his criminal history, which includes violent offenses. Allen is scheduled to appear in court on Monday morning.
