AMBER Alert canceled; Police say toddler abducted in San Marcos found safe in Dallas

Authorities in South Texas have announced the cancellation of a statewide Amber Alert issued for a toddler who was abducted by a family member on Saturday afternoon, as the little boy was found unharmed in Dallas.

Two-year-old Legend Torres was reported missing from Children’s Park in the 200 block of South CM Allen Parkway in San Marcos around 1:30 p.m., according to the San Marcos Police Department.

In a Facebook post, police confirmed that the young boy was discovered “safe and unharmed” at approximately 1:50 a.m. after being located in the Dallas area alongside the suspect, Joey Torres, aged 46.

The San Marcos Police Department identified the vehicle in which the pair were traveling and collaborated with the Dallas Police Department to track it down.

Officers located the vehicle at an apartment complex in Dallas, where both Joey Torres and the toddler were found. Police have stated that Joey Torres is now in custody.
