Suspect in custody after shooting leads to hours-long SWAT standoff in Dallas

Following a shooting incident in a Dallas neighborhood on Saturday morning, an armed suspect who barricaded themselves inside a home was apprehended by SWAT after a prolonged standoff with police.

Dallas Police officers were initially dispatched to the 400 block of Freddie Street around 7:50 a.m. in response to reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that an individual had been shot in the leg, following which the perpetrator fled the scene. Paramedics arrived to provide medical treatment to the victim before transporting them to a nearby hospital.

Subsequently, SWAT was called to the scene after investigators determined that the suspected shooter had taken refuge inside a residence located in the 8500 block of Blossom Lane.

The suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, was successfully apprehended by police without any further incident. The shooting incident remains under investigation.
