Welfare check leads to 3 bodies found in SW Houston home, HPD says

In Houston, Texas, a welfare check conducted by the Houston Police Department uncovered a disturbing scene in a residence on the southwest side on Monday evening.

Upon responding to the call in the 4900 block of Danfield Drive in the Central Southwest neighborhood, officers discovered the bodies of three individuals.

The request for the welfare check came in at 7:16 p.m., prompting officers to summon HPD homicide detectives for further investigation. Initial findings revealed the presence of a man and woman in their late 60s inside the home, with another man in his 20s discovered in a garage apartment.

Authorities indicated that it appeared the man in his 20s had taken his own life after allegedly causing harm to the other two individuals.

While the precise relationship between the deceased was not disclosed, police believe they are connected in some manner.

The area, encompassing Almeda Plaza, South Glen, Dumbarton Oaks, and Briarwick, has seen a total of eight homicides within the past year, with a consistent number reported in preceding years.
