2 earthquakes detected near Mansfield

On Wednesday afternoon, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) detected two earthquakes near Mansfield.

According to the USGS, the initial earthquake occurred at 1:03 p.m., approximately 4 miles south and southwest of Mansfield, registering a magnitude of 3.0.

Shortly after, at 1:09 p.m., a second earthquake was detected in the same vicinity, measuring a magnitude of 3.2.

A photo sent by an NBC 5 viewer, who resides 11 miles from Mansfield, showed a wall plate falling to the floor during one of the earthquakes.

Despite the tremors, the Mansfield Police Department stated that there were no reports of injuries or damages. However, several individuals called the department to inquire if what they felt was indeed an earthquake.

The Mansfield PD noted that the Public Safety building experienced shaking.

NBC 5 contacted the Mansfield Fire Department, who indicated that they had not received any reports of damage at the time of this statement.
