Sam Asghari still holds a soft corner for his ex-wife Britney Spears despite having finalised divorce with her.
According to an insider cited by Us Weekly, Asghari “feels terrible” after Spears had an incident at Chateau Marmont.
The Gimme More singer gave fans glimpse at her “really swollen” ankle after spraining it during an alleged fight with boyfriend Paul Soliz at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles.
“Sam will always have a soft spot for Britney and will always be protective over her,” a source told the outlet.
The insider added that the situation is “heartbreaking” to Asghari, who a “helper and was there for her in her hardest times.”
Asghari, 30, who was together with to Spears, 42, for seven years “hopes she is OK.”
The pair finalised their divorce on Thursday, May 2, after the Iranian-American actor filed divorce following 14 months of marriage.
Asghari found the situation “definitely worrisome” even though the exes “don’t communicate anymore.” Reportedly officers were called to the scene on Thursday.
“Sam has been down this road with Britney before and knows how she is,” the insider noted, adding he “feels terrible if she is not surrounded by positive people in her life.”
Despite their uncoupling, Asghari “will always wish [Spears] the best and would be there for her if she needed him.”
