Foul play not suspected after 5-month-old found not breathing in N. Harris County, deputies say

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — No foul play is suspected by constable deputies following an incident where a 5-month-old was discovered not breathing at a north Harris County apartment complex.

Responding to the scene at Excelsior on the Park Apartments in the 14300 block of Ella Boulevard on Thursday afternoon, deputies from Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman’s office acted swiftly.

The infant was promptly transported to a hospital and is currently in critical condition, as reported by Precinct 4.

While a man was initially detained by constable deputies, he was later released, with authorities clarifying that this action was standard protocol.

Precinct 4’s office did not provide details on the circumstances surrounding the child’s condition.

This incident at Ella Boulevard was one of several child distress calls handled by the constable’s office on Thursday. In another incident, deputies rushed to the 12400 block of Fossil Point in Atascocita, where a 6-month-old child was also discovered not breathing, according to Precinct 4.

Tragically, the child in this instance was pronounced deceased at the scene. No information was provided regarding arrests or indications of foul play.
