Chiefs’ Rashee Rice won’t face charges from photographer over alleged nightclub assault

Dallas police stated on Tuesday that Kansas City Chiefs receiver Rashee Rice will not be charged by the injured party regarding his alleged involvement in an assault incident at a downtown nightclub. However, the investigation into the matter is ongoing.

Reports from law enforcement officials suggested that Rice was suspected of assaulting an individual on May 6, resulting in the injured person seeking medical attention at a hospital.

Although Dallas police did not explicitly name Rice as the suspect in their report provided to The Associated Press, they confirmed that the reporting party had signed an affidavit of non-prosecution.

Rice’s attorney, Texas State Senator Royce West, did not respond to requests for comment. Additionally, the NFL declined to provide any statement on the matter.

Earlier, Rice had turned himself in to Dallas police in connection with a chain-reaction crash, facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault. The crash involved several vehicles, with Rice reportedly driving a Lamborghini SUV and Theodore Knox driving a Corvette. Both Rice and Knox have been charged with aggravated assault, collision involving serious bodily injury, and multiple counts of collision involving injury.

The crash resulted in injuries to four individuals, and both Rice and Knox allegedly left the scene without providing necessary information or determining if anyone required medical attention.

Rice, who turned 24 last month, was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the second round last year. He played in 20 games, including the Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory over San Francisco, leading the team in receiving touchdowns during the regular season.
