Searchers at Matagorda Beach look for missing teenage swimmer

The U.S. Coast Guard was searching Sunday for a missing 16-year-old swimmer at Matagorda Beach, according to a news release.

Coast Guard searchers were notified around 1 p.m. about the missing teen, who did not make it back to shore when swimming with friends.

Searchers were looking by helicopter and boat, with assistance from the Matagorda Sheriff’s Office and Texas Parks and Wildlife.
