Motorcyclist dies after falling from ramp at Bush Airport

A man died early Sunday after he lost control of his motorcycle and fell from a ramp at George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

The man hit a guard rail when he turned south onto John F. Kennedy Boulevard from westbound Will Clayton Parkway about 1 a.m., Houston police said.

It was unclear at the time if speed caused the accident.

“For some unknown reason, he lost control of his motorcycle and fell off of it,” said Houston Police Sgt. Jesus Uribe, of the vehicle crimes divisions. “Unfortunately, he fell off the bridge and the motorcycle kept going.”

Uribe estimated the drop from the ramp was about 50 or 60 feet. He said the man was about 50 years old. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Release of his identity was pending notification of his relatives.
