Woman fleeing domestic violence in Grand Prairie crashes car, police say; 2 child passengers hurt

Two children were left badly injured and hospitalized early Saturday when a woman fleeing a domestic violence incident in Grand Prairie lost control of the car they were all riding in, causing it to flip repeatedly in a grassy median, Dallas police said.

The crash happened around 2 a.m. Saturday in the 4600 block of Jefferson Boulevard, about a half-mile west of Cockrell Hill Road, police said. An adult man and four children — ages 2, 7, 10 and 13 years old — were in the car with the woman.

The car rolled during the crash, ejecting the 7- and 10-year-olds. Both were transported to Children’s Medical Center Dallas, where the younger child was on life support and the other in serious but stable condtion.

Conditions of others in the car were not known.

The incident is still under investigation, police said.
