Woman arrested in fatal shooting of 65-year-old man in South Dallas

A woman is behind bars after a fatal shooting Thursday night in South Dallas.

Officers were called about 8:45 p.m. to the 3200 block of Hamilton Avenue, near the southern end of Fair Park, where they found 65-year-old Ernest Berry dead from a gunshot wound.

Police said 37-year-old Erica Monique Polk was arrested when she returned to the scene of the shooting. They did not release any additional information about the case.

Polk, whose last name is listed as Williams in jail records, was booked into the Dallas County jail on one count of murder, and her bail was set at $200,000. She does not have an attorney listed in court records.
