Allen is set to begin a $967,000 road repair project this month

The city of Allen is preparing to begin work on a $967,000 road repair project, which is expected to be completed in five months.

City Council unanimously approved the project in the consent agenda on May 25.

Eleven bids were received, each proposing a projected completion date and cost. City Council approved Advance Contracting Group’s bid, which represented the best value when comparing cost versus time.

Included in the citywide project are:

  • Approximately 960 square yards of alley pavement reconstruction
  • Approximately 6,158 square yards of roadway pavement repair
  • Curb and gutter repair
  • Barrier-free ramps
  • Incidental issues and concerns associated with the repairs

More than 15 alleys, streets, ramps and sidewalks will be repaired across Allen, including heavily traveled Alma Drive, Exchange Parkway and Stacy Road, as shown on a map on the city’s website.
