Man arrested, accused of fatally shooting his father in Fort Worth, police say

Police have arrested a man investigators believe fatally shot his father in Fort Worth earlier this month.

Authorities arrested Trevor Hicks, 25, in connection with the slaying of a man identified as 61-year-old John Hicks, according to Fort Worth police. Trevor Hicks is John Hicks’ son, police said.

Hicks was arrested Friday and was at the Tarrant County Jail on Tuesday afternoon, according to online jail records. He is facing a murder charge and his bail has been set at $150,000.

On the evening of June 5, officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 9100 block of Summit Oxbow Road, near the intersection of Chisholm Trail Parkway and West Risinger Road, where someone reported finding a dead man inside a residence.

Crime in The NewsHicks died from being shot multiple times, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Hicks’ attorney did not immediately return a request for comment.
