1 killed, 3 injured after 12-year-old driver crashes into tree in Rylie, Dallas police say

One child was killed and three others were injured after a 12-year-old boy crashed a car into a tree in Rylie Thursday morning, Dallas police say.

The crash occurred about 8:40 a.m. in the 15000 block of Lasater Road. According to police, the boy was driving an SUV south on Lasater when he went off the road and hit a tree.

A passenger, another 12-year-old boy, died at the scene, police said.

The driver and two other passengers, boys ages 11 and 12, were taken to a hospital and deemed stable, according to police. Their names were not released.

The investigation was ongoing Friday, and no additional information was immediately available.
