Forbes Advisor recently unveiled its compilation of states with the most indulged furry friends across the United States, and Texas emerged prominently among them. In celebration of National Love Your Pet Day on February 20th, the company conducted an analysis of 10 key metrics derived from a nationwide survey of dog owners to determine which states lavished the most attention on their pups. Scoring 70.8 out of 100, Texas secured the eighth position for having some of the most spoiled dogs in the nation. According to the study, Texas boasts the fourth-highest percentage (27%) of dog owners who spritz perfume or cologne on their furry companions. Moreover, the Lone Star State ranked sixth in the nation for owners who indulge their pets by pushing them in strollers (33%) and treating them to special delicacies at restaurants (52%). The report also highlighted that 58% of dog owners in Texas regularly prepare homemade meals or treats for their furry friends, placing the state sixth in this category. Additionally, Texans ranked seventh overall, with 44.5% of owners likely to throw birthday parties or celebrations for their dogs and 59.5% inclined to purchase pet outfits and accessories. So, which states clinched the top positions for doting on their dogs the most? As per Forbes Advisor’s findings, Florida claimed the leading spot for pampering its canine companions. In Florida, 66.5% of dog owners prioritize spending on their dog’s health and grooming over their own, while 63% treat their dogs to special restaurant delicacies. Taking second place is Alaska, where nearly half of dog owners (49%) regularly host birthday parties or other celebrations for their dogs. Alaskan dog owners also rank fifth in the nation for purchasing dog outfits and accessories (62%) and ordering restaurant treats for their pets (54%). Washington secured the third spot, with 61% of dog owners bringing their furry pals on vacation, the highest proportion nationwide. Additionally, Washington dog owners are most likely to organize doggy birthday parties (71.5%) and prepare homemade dog food or treats (73%). No matter how you choose to spoil your furry friend on National Love Your Pet Day, one thing remains certain – dogs hold a special place in our hearts and deserve to be treated with love and care.
