Spike continues: Dallas County reports 1,716 new cases, 7 deaths; Texas shatters single-day case record

Dallas County on Tuesday reported 1,716 more coronavirus cases, all of them considered new. Seven new COVID-19 deaths were also reported. A 1-year-old girl has died after a shooting in Forney that also left her brother wounded, officials said. A line of thunderstorms moved through Dallas-Fort Worth late Tuesday, prompting severe weather watches and tornado warnings. Shortly before 9 p.m., a thunderstorm moving through Arlington near state highways 303 and 306 produced strong winds.
