Woman dies after being struck by vehicle on Katy Freeway

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The westbound lanes of the Katy Freeway are back open after a woman was hit and killed while walking along the freeway.

Police say the woman was struck on the highway around 2 a.m.

The driver who hit the woman stayed and called officials. Police say he is cooperating and alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

Investigators are working to determine why the woman was on the freeway.
