15-year-old accused of pulling a gun at a store employee, prompts Chavez HS on lockdown: police

In Houston, Texas, a 15-year-old is in legal trouble after allegedly brandishing a gun at a convenience store employee. The incident occurred on Thursday morning at a convenience store located on Galveston Road, adjacent to Cesar Chavez High School.

Footage captured by a viewer and sent to ABC13 depicted the scene outside Cesar Chavez High School as parents attempted to retrieve their children following a lockdown prompted by what the district described as suspicious activity in the vicinity.

According to authorities, the 15-year-old engaged in a confrontation with a 37-year-old convenience store worker, during which the teen reportedly produced a firearm.

Pedro Borjon, a parent with a child attending Cesar Chavez High School, expressed concern about the escalating lack of safety in the community. He emphasized the need for action to address these issues.

When contacted by, HISD stated they were aware of the situation involving one of their students.

Borjon stressed the importance of parents focusing on their children’s future and instilling proper behavior within the community.

Law enforcement officials disclosed that the apprehended teenager attempted to evade arrest by initiating a pursuit before being captured.

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries resulting from the incident, leaving residents grateful for the safety of those involved.
