Dust returns, rain chances increasing for July 4th

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A bit of Saharan dust will make it’s return to SE Texas today, bringing with it a slight haze to the sky and respiratory issues for people with allergies or asthma. The dust today is just a precursor to a thicker concentration of dust that will move in tomorrow. While the dust this week likely won’t be quick to the same level as what we saw on Friday of last week, we will be dealing with it for longer, as the dust should stay in place over our area until the weekend.

A heat ridge will continue building into Houston this week keeping rain chances below 20 percent through Thursday with high temperatures climbing into the mid 90s. Feels-like Temperatures will be around 100 degrees the entire week.

A weak front will move in this weekend, clearing out the dust and and bringing rain chances back in the picture for the weekend of the 4th. Anyone with outdoor plans for the 4th of July should keep.
