Cold start to Tuesday, storms return Friday

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Are you ready for some more award-winning weather in Houston? Tuesday will start cold in the upper 30s, but we’ll end up in the 70s under a perfectly sunny sky.

Similar weather is on the way Wednesday and Thursday with slightly warmer temperatures each day. By Friday, it’ll be noticeably warmer in the morning as a storm system pushes through the state.

Temperatures will only drop to about 60-degrees in the morning, and then thunderstorms will blow in by the afternoon. These storms will form along and ahead of our next cold front.

When will it rain in Houston?

Rain looks most likely in the afternoon and evening hours Friday.

How much rain will I get?

If you get any of the thunderstorms, you can generally expect less than 1″ of rain.

Will any of the storms be severe?

At this time, severe weather looks unlikely, but it cannot yet be ruled out.

 

How cold will it get in Houston after the front blows in?

Our coldest morning should be Monday, and it is possible there could be a light freeze and frost across a large part of southeast Texas.

And how is the weekend looking?

The weekend looks great! All the rain should clear out Friday night, bringing a dry but chilly Saturday and Sunday.
