North Texas man arrested in Richardson on charges in connection with U.S. Capitol riot, FBI says

A North Texas man was arrested Wednesday on charges related to the storming of the U.S. Capitol last month, the FBI said.

Daniel Ray Caldwell, 49, who has lived in Lewisville and The Colony, was arrested by FBI agents in Richardson on Wednesday and booked into the Collin County jail. He was arrested at his workplace, according to WFAA-TV (Channel 8).

According to charging documents, Caldwell faces four charges: obstruction of law enforcement during civil disorder; assaulting, resisting or impeding officers or employees; knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds without lawful authority; and violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.

Caldwell is at least the 12th North Texan known to be charged in connection with the Jan. 6 riot. It is unclear whether he has an attorney.
