Mostly cloudy with a few showers for Easter Sunday

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Scattered light rain showers moved through parts of Southeast Texas today. Tonight, rain chances should decrease and some clouds will break up leading to partly cloudy skies. We may see a little bit of sun early Sunday but clouds will quickly move back in bringing back mostly cloudy conditions. Our next disturbance is expected to be weak as it moves through the area Sunday, but it could still spark a few, scattered, light rain showers. No need to move all your Easter activities indoors, but it’s not a bad idea to have a backup plan under cover if a light rain shower moves overhead in the afternoon.

What is the outlook for Easter?
Easter will bring mostly cloudy skies and a few showers mainly in the afternoon. Showers will bring light rain and overall, rain amounts will remain very low. Temperatures Easter will start in the 50s and rise into the low 70s.

Are we looking for a warming trend or cooling trend through the extended forecast?!
We will be gradually warming throughout the 10-day forecast…70s through early next week, then 80s by the middle of next week. By the end of next week our high temperatures will be well in to the 80s pushing close to 90 degrees.

When will this oak pollen go away?!
We are near peak pollen season, but we’ll need to give it another couple of weeks before we fully rid ourselves of local oak pollen issues. Oak pollen levels are verging on extreme, so a heavy rain would do a lot to help decrease the amount of the allergen that’s floating in the air.
