6 injured in shootout on Southwest Loop 820 in Fort Worth

Six people were injured in a shootout Friday night along Southwest Loop 820 Freeway in Fort Worth, police said.

People in two cars began shooting at each other about 10:10 p.m. while traveling east in the 2000 block of Southwest Loop 820, near Interstate 20 and Crowley Road, Fort Worth police said.

Four people in the two cars were hit by the gunfire. Stray bullets also hit a man inside his house by the freeway service road and a woman driving nearby.

All six were taken to local hospitals — one in critical condition and the other five for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The shooters remained at large.

Police said they believe the shootout was gang-related. Gang units have taken over the investigation.

No other details were immediately available.
