Dallas police investigating slaying following death of victim 6 days after beating in north Oak Cliff

Dallas police are investigating a homicide after the death of a beating victim.

Officers were called about 12:30 a.m. June 9 to the 500 block of Griffith Avenue, near West Clarendon Drive and South Adams Avenue in north Oak Cliff, where they found 32-year-old Ashley Uresti suffering from blunt-force trauma. An incident report said the victim had a swollen, bloody face.

Police said Uresti died from those injuries on Tuesday.

No arrests have been made, and authorities have not determined a motive for the slaying.
