Dallas police make arrest in fatal beating of victim in north Oak Cliff

A 22-year-old man was arrested this week in connection with the fatal beating of a victim in north Oak Cliff, Dallas police said.

William Adolph Sandoval was booked early Saturday into the Dallas County jail on a charge of murder, according to jail records. His bail was set at $501,000. It was unclear whether he had an attorney.

Officers had been called about 12:30 a.m. June 9 to the 500 block of Griffith Avenue, near West Clarendon Drive and South Adams Avenue, where they found 32-year-old Ashley Uresti suffering from blunt-force trauma. An incident report said the victim had a swollen, bloody face.

Police said Uresti died from those injuries on Tuesday.

Authorities have not released information on a motive for the slaying.
