Texas reports 11 COVID-19 deaths, 318 more cases; Tarrant County adds 123 coronavirus cases

Across the state, 318 more COVID-19 cases were reported Sunday, including 292 new cases and 26 older ones that were recently reported by labs.

The state also reported 11 COVID-19 deaths, raising its toll to 51,199.

Of the new cases, 261 were confirmed and 31 were probable. Of the older cases, 20 were confirmed and six were probable.

The state’s case total is now 2,984,340, including 2,543,158 confirmed and 441,182 probable

According to the state, 13,777,559 people in Texas have received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine, while 11,784,663 — 49% of the state’s population 12 and older — are fully vaccinated.

Dallas County

Dallas County is no longer reporting COVID-19 data over the weekend.

As of Friday, there were 305,969 total cases in the county, including 262,615 confirmed and 43,354 probable. The death toll is 4,120.

According to the state, 1,248,990 people in Dallas County have received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine, while 1,055,642 — 48.4% of the county’s population 12 and older — are fully vaccinated.

Tarrant County

Tarrant County reported no new deaths and 123 cases Sunday.

Of the new cases, 72 were confirmed and 51 were probable. The numbers bring the county’s case total to 263,301, including 219,952 confirmed and 43,349 probable. The death toll is 3,566.

According to the state, 931,487 people in Tarrant County have received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine, while 821,739 — 47.3% of the county’s population 12 and older — are fully vaccinated.

Collin County

The state added no deaths and five cases to Collin County’s totals Sunday.

Of the new cases three were confirmed and two were probable. The numbers bring the county’s case total to 92,783, including 75,869 confirmed and 16,914 probable. The death toll is 845.

According to the state, 575,682 people in Collin County have received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine, while 507,954 — 58.7% of the county’s population 12 and older — are fully vaccinated.

Denton County

Denton County no longer releases COVID-19 data over the weekend.

As of Friday, the county had a total of 76,891 COVID-19 cases, including 56,318 confirmed and 20,573 probable. The death toll stood at 615.

According to the state, 448,297 people in Denton County have received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine, while 390,820 — 52.1% of the county’s population 12 and older — are fully vaccinated.

Other counties

The Texas Department of State Health Services has taken over reporting for these other North Texas counties. In some counties, new data may not be reported every day.

The latest numbers are:

  • Rockwall County: 11,842 cases (9,458 confirmed and 2,384 probable), 158 deaths.
  • Kaufman County: 16,500 cases (13,632 confirmed and 2,868 probable), 266 deaths.
  • Ellis County: 23,217 cases (19,118 confirmed and 4,099 probable), 323 deaths.
  • Johnson County: 20,127 cases (16,995 confirmed and 3,132 probable), 376 deaths.
