Silver Alert: Garland man left home Sunday to drive to Georgia but never arrived, police say

Garland police are asking for the public’s help finding a missing man who left his home over the weekend to drive to Georgia.

A Silver Alert has been activated for Paul Welch, 86, who has dementia and other health conditions.

Police say Welch left his home in the 2300 block of Heather Ridge Lane on Sunday. On Tuesday, police were notified that he had not arrived in Georgia.

Welch is described as a white man who is 6 feet tall and about 180 pounds, with balding gray hair and greenish-blue eyes.

He is believed to be driving a silver 2000 Chrysler 300 with Texas license plate CH2-T402.
