27-year-old man fatally shot during argument with another person, Dallas police say

A 27-year-old man was fatally shot by another person in southeast Dallas Saturday morning during an argument, police said.

Officers were called to a shooting around 9:30 a.m. in the 6700 block of Atha Drive, between South Great Trinity Forest Way and C.F. Hawn Freeway.

Police found the victim, identified as Joshua Donald Moore, on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said another person, who was not identified, told detectives that they were in an argument with Moore when he pulled a knife and tried to stab them. The person said they shot Moore in self defense, police said.

The individual was interviewed by detectives and released pending a referral to a Dallas County grand jury, police said. No other details about the incident were made available.
