Rain chances dropping Tuesday, but not completely out of picture

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Many got walloped with wind and rain Monday.

Monday’s storms were generated by a weak front that will lift back north on Tuesday, taking the higher rain chances along with it. Temperatures will start in the mid 70s with patchy fog possible for the morning drive. Sunshine will warm temperatures into the mid 90s, and there will be enough moisture for a few thunderstorms to blossom along the sea breeze front during the afternoon.

Any storms that do pop up should fizzle by sunset.

Is it going to be another rainy week?

No! While there is a small chance for an after downpour every day, the rain will not be as widespread as it was Monday. Added moisture from a tropical wave on Thursday will boost the chance back up to 40%, then it should drop back down to 20% for the weekend.

What else can I expect this weekend?
Temperatures will be near average both days with lows in the mid 70s and highs in the mid 90s. If you do get an afternoon downpour, it should drop less than half an inch of rain. A Saharan dust cloud arriving Friday could stick around through Saturday, reducing the air quality and bring a little haze to the sky.
