Typical summer weather

The forecast calls for sunny, hot and mostly dry weather for the next few days. The pattern that brought thunderstorms earlier in the week has transitioned to more of a dry, summer pattern for now. Temperatures will be climbing into the mid-90s today. Of course, with a fair amount of humidity, it will feel hotter. The afternoon heat index will be near 100 for the next few days.

The rest of the week is looking dry across North Texas as an upper-level high gradually builds in from the west. High temperatures will generally hold steady in the mid-90s, which is typical for the middle of July here. But there are still no 100 degree days in the 10 day forecast. A decent chance of rain and storms looks to return by Sunday or early next week.
